Sammy is an entrepreneurial innovator who wants to combine disruptive technology with innovative ideas. To this end, Sammy and co-founder Tony Ngai founded Efinix®️ in 2012. Under Sammy’s leadership, Efinix’s development of the disruptive Quantum® compute technology means that Efinix is poised to become the leader in a new era of low power embedded AI and data computing.
Prior to Efinix, Sammy led the IC group at Stretch, Inc. where he enabled Stretch’s video surveillance business with the successful rollout of two generations of SoCs. Before Stretch, Sammy spent 11 years at Altera Corporation. He steered teams that developed the leading-edge Stratix and Cyclone FPGAs and was instrumental in transitioning HardCopy structured ASICs from a technical concept to a reality of $100M+ in yearly sales. Sammy started his career at Cypress Semiconductor after receiving his Masters of Engineering from Cornell University. He also received an MBA from UC Berkeley in 1997.
